Charlie Taylor is expected to become Albion's first summer signing in the next few days.
Taylor has been one of Albion's main targets this summer and the club has been in discussions with United over a compensation package for the out-of-contract defender.
Talks have been delayed after a summer of transition at Elland Road with Leeds changing ownership and having to appoint a new manager after Gary Monk's departure.
But the Baggies are now confident of completing a deal for Taylor before his contract formally expires at the end of this month.
Tony Pulis previously said that Albion were keen to agree a deal for the left-back rather than having to gamble on a price at a tribunal.
Meanwhile, Albion have reportely rejected Leicester's £10m offer for Jonny Evans.
The Leicester Mercury reported yesterday that the Foxes were interested in signing the Northern Ireland international.
But their advances were immediately rebuffed by the Baggies, who are keen to keep hold of the reliable Evans.
After Darren Fletcher's departure, Evans is one of the main candidates to take over as the club captain.
