Albion have decided to appeal against Paul Robinson's harsh red-card last night against Manchester United.
The stand-in skipper clashed with Park Ji-Sung in the 40th minute yesterday with both players colliding for a loose ball. Referee, Rob Styles, immediately decided the tackle was worthy of a straight dismissal due to violent conduct and showed the left-back his marching orders.
As a result, club officials are now gathering evidence to protest Robinson's case in order to get the decision overturned and avoid a three match ban for defender.
Hawthorns legal director/secretary Darren Eales said: "From Mr Styles' viewpoint, the incident may have seemed worthy of a red card but we believe the video evidence we have compiled proves otherwise.
"We feel it was no more than a 50-50 challenge between two very committed players."
