James McClean looks set to become Albion’s first summer signing after the Baggies agreed a fee around £1.5m with Wigan Athletic to sign the Republic of Ireland winger.
McClean joined the Latics from Sunderland in August 2013 and scored six times last season in the Wigan side that was relegated from the Championship.
The 26-year-old, who has 26 caps for Ireland and scored 4 times, will add much needed width to Albion’s squad.
Wigan’s player of the season will join his former teammate Callum McManaman at The Hawthorns after the winger signed for the Baggies back in January.
Despite McClean’s imminent arrival, the Baggies are still heavily linked with QPR winger Matt Phillips as Tony Pulis looks to shape his squad ahead of next season.
