Uruguay captain Diego Lugano is expected to sign today on a free transfer to become Albion’s second summer signing.
The PSG defender passed a medical at The Hawthorns yesterday and the formailities of the deal were today being completed.
Steve Clarke has been eager to sign another central defender to offer competition to Jonas Olsson and Gareth McAuley.
Lugano played for Malaga last season and helped the Spanish club reach the semi finals of the Champions League.
The experienced 32-year old has also played for Fenerbache, Sao Paulo and Nacional. He has 85 caps for his country, scoring nine times.
