Albion Chief Executive Martin Goodman has hit back at reports that the club sent out images referring to former captain Darren Fletcher.
Stories published in the natiional press and across social media claimed to show season tickets featuring Stoke's recent signing.
But Goodman insists the images included in the stories were produced back in February and never featured on any season tickets issued to fans.
“The Club wishes to make it clear that no documentation, with or on our season cards and sent to our season ticket holders had any reference at all to Darren," he said in a statement.
“Furthermore, at no stage were our season cards produced bearing Darren’s image.
“The image reproduced by the national press was part of a season ticket application pack which was produced and sent out in February when Darren was an Albion player and captain.”
