Albion have missed out on Tyrone Mings after the left-back joined newly promoted Bournemouth in a record-breaking £8m deal.
The Baggies had identified Mings as a potential signing to fill the void at left-back but have missed out on the 22-year-old after Ipswich accepted the Cherries’ offer.
The 6ft 5in former Southampton defender is expected to sign a long-term deal at newcomers Bournemouth who joined Ipswich in 2012 for just £10,000.
Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Arsenal had also been linked to the promising defender.
Meanwhile, former Albion defenders Jason Davidson and James Hurst have found new clubs. Davidson, who was released at the end of last season, looks set to join Huddersfield, whilst Hurst has signed for Torquay United.
