Portuguese midfielder Felipe Teixeria has been released from the club after the Baggies decided against exercising an additional year in his contract. The former PSG man joined Albion for a fee of £800,000 back in July 2007 from Academica de Coimbra.
Teixeria enjoyed a fruitful first few months at The Hawthorns under Tony Mowbray however his first season was cut short after suffering a cruciate knee injury against Plymouth Argyle in March 2008.
The skilful Portuguese battled back to full fitness but struggled to break back into Albion’s first-team and was eventually loaned to Barnsley for the final three months of last season.
In total Teixeria made 62 appearances for the Throstles, including 24 times from the bench, netting five times.
