Albion have activated the release clause for Solomon Kalou after submitting a £2.7m bid for the Ivory Coast international.
The Baggies have been trailing the forward for a number of weeks and have now offered the former Chelsea man a deal worth in the region of £2m a year.
Kalou is believed to have been Steve Clarke’s No.1 summer target with the boss eager to reunite the 27 year old with his former teammate Nicolas Anelka.
But a deal for the front man is far from certain after West Ham, Valencia and Trabzonspor have all had similar offers accepted by Lille.
Kalou will now decide whether to stay in France, move to England to either West Ham or Albion or make a switch to Spain or Turkey.
Meanwhile, the club remain in discussions with Man City over a loan move for Sinclair. Albion again face competition for his signature – this time from Everton and Stoke. Reports that Sinclair had agreed a move to The Hawthorns last week were premature. However, he did post on his Twitter account that he was excited about a new challenge in his career.
