Jeremy Peace's chairmanship of the club could soon be coming to an end after the Evergrande Group were the latest Chinese consortium linked with buying the club.
Peace is believed to be in advanced talks to sell the club and a potential deal could be as little as a week away from being completed.
In fact, the potential buyers have already sanctioned a number of transfer bids with Albion linked with a £10m offer for Jeffrey Schlupp, a £5m bid for Leeds' Charlie Taylor and a £15m transfer for West Ham's Diafra Sakho.
Although the club have benefitted from an improved television deal this summer, the hefty price tags goes against Peace's transfer strategy of paying higher wages for nominal fees or free transfers.
However, the unncertainy of Albion's future leadership may be delaying incoming transfers. Albion have so far only added Matt Phillps from QPR this summer. Only Sunderland have made less transfers in the Premier League.
