Sam Allardyce says Albion were unluckly only to take a point against rivals Wolves after playing out a 1-1 draw at The Hawthorns.
The Baggies boss was forced into an early tactical switch but watched as Albion created the best of the chances - especially after the break - but were again unable to find a winner.
Conor Townsend and Conor Gallagher both wasted clear chances before Mbaye Diagne headed Albion's equaliser.
He said: "Under normal circumstances, I don’t think the Albion fans watching that would have been too disappointed.
“We needed a victory though, not a draw.
“Over the 90 minutes, we gave ourselves enough opportunities to win this game two or three one and failed to do so. That’s been our situation for a long period of time sadly.
“We scored a great goal today, but the chances we had before that we really should have put them away.
“If you look at their goal, you say to yourself why couldn’t one of those go in for us, but that’s the way the game goes. It’s pretty cruel.
“We’re competing well but we’re getting too many draws.”
Have your say on Albion's performance at Baggies Banter.
