On the back of his successful season on loan at The Hawthorns Roman Bednar has signing on a permanent basis for a fee believed to be in the region of £2.5 million pounds from Hearts. Albion had agreed the deal before the start of the season for the 25-year-old Czech striker who has one international cap to his name and exercised the permanent transfer a day before the deal expired.
Although Bednar arrived at The Hawthorns injured and lacking match fitness he marked his full debut by scoring a brace away at Plymouth in November. Bednar then went on an impressive scoring run resulting in a total of 17 goals in all competitions, including four in the FA Cup and also scored the decisive penalty in the shoot-out against Charlton in the third round reply.
