Paul McShane insists it was an "easy decision" for him to leave behind the glamour of Manchester United to join Championship outfit West Brom. The bustling defender, who has impressed since his arrival at The Hawthorns, scored his first goal for the Baggies in the 3-1 FA Cup win over Leeds.
He said: "It was an easy decision from a career point of view. I wanted to keep progressing in my career after being on loan at Brighton last season and getting player of the year. I had a year left on my contract but I am a realist and I could see there was no way into that team for me, so I took it on myself and decided to come here and keep playing. It's not usual for a young lad to hand in a request there and it was hard for me at the time but I've seen lads stay there and rot in the reserves."
