Albion suffered their second successive away defeat at fortress Portman Road after goals from defenders David Wright and Jason De Vos condemned the Baggies to a 2-0 defeat. The end-to-end encounter saw chances at both ends before the deadlock was broken in the 75th minute and extended The Tractor Boys enviable home record to 11 wins, 2 draws and no defeats.

"It was a very, very tough game," Mowbray said on his return to Portman Road.

"We played against a team which have done very well at home this season and we've got no divine right to win football matches.

"The first half was pretty even.

"They had a few chances and we did.

"Overall it was a disappointing result and we didn't perform as we can.

"We were below par but Ipswich worked extremely hard to stop our fluency and earned their result.

"From our perspective we move onto the next game."

Despite Albion failing to take any points from the Portman Road fixture the Baggies remain top of the Championship thanks to a superior goal difference over both Watford and Bristol City who both won their respective games with Mowbray refusing to press the panic button.

"I'm not going to criticise our team," the manager added.

"They've done extremely well and we're sitting top of the league.

"There are lots of positives and it's not a bust and boom scenario.

"We work hard every week and try and win matches.

"Today we didn't but there are lots of other opportunities for us.

"It's a tough period for us but we've got to stick together and keep going.

"I'm happy with the players I've got.

"It's a good group and they've just got to keep doing what they do week in, week out."
