Roman Bednar is now available for first-team selection after serving a three-month ban by the FA and being fined the maximum amount by the club. Following newspaper allegations, and a resulting police caution, Bednar had been suspended without pay since the start of May.
Now however, after the club conducted an internal investigation, Bednar returned to training with the first-team squad since his suspension with Roberto Di Matteo able to pick his services, if required, for the first time.
The popular Czech international striker has expressed his remorse for his actions and has cooperated fully with the police, FA and the club during the investigations. Bednar has also volunteered to assist the FA in promoting their Drug Education programme; and also pledged his own time and money to establish a special Drug Education Module with the Albion Foundation.
Welcome back, Roman.
