Roman Bednar looks set to shake off the calf injury which forced him off against Sheffield Wednesday in time to face Bristol Rovers for Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final (KO 6pm).

Although Albion boss Tony Mowbray has been boosted with the progress of 16-goal striker Bednar, Belgium international, Carl Hoefkens, still remains a doubt after missing training.

"Roman is fine," the Albion boss said.

"I'm sure he'll be okay.

"He hasn't trained today but there is every intention he will train tomorrow and be ready for selection on Sunday.

"He's an important player for us.

"He has scored a lot of goals and brings great qualities to the team.

"I'm pretty sure in my mind his name will be on the team-sheet come Sunday.

"I would suggest Carl will be okay.

"He didn't train today but he is pretty positive about it.

"We're pretty positive both of them will be available."

Sunday's sixth-round cup tie marks the start of three games in six days for the Baggies with Crystal Palace and Leicester City visiting The Hawthorns. However, Mowbray is not over concerned with the fixture pile-up claiming his squad are more than capable of dealing with the up-and-coming games.

"We're in a decent enough position players-wise to pick the right team for each game," Mowbray continued.

"There will be changes from game to game but I don't put weaker teams out, I put different teams out and trust in the quality players we have available.

"I anticipate Sunday will be a different type of game from Wednesday and I will pick the players that will be more suited to the games."
