Tony Mowbray has admitted Albion face a crucial six weeks ahead of them as they try to get back to Premiership safety. Although the Baggies are currently bottom of the league they find themselves only three points away from 12th spot in one of the tightest divisions for seasons.
After picking up a disappointing solitary point from their last six games, the Baggies boss claims he's pleased with his troops' overall performance and not discouraged with his team's points total so far. However, Mowbray has now insisted his players pick up points in their forthcoming fixtures against the likes of Stoke, Wigan and Sunderland to help climb up the league.
"Maybe the run of games we've had since the start of the season has been bad," the Albion chief admitted.
"Let's hope we can continue along the vein of games where we feel we should have taken points and those in which we actually have.
"Maybe against Everton at home we deserved more for the level of performance that day.
"Yet Everton now find themselves in the top-seven again after finishing fifth last season.
"We'll have a much clearer gauge over the next six weeks.
"If we're sitting here in six weeks saying we lost here and there I'll be disappointed.
"Whereas, as I sit here today, I still don't feel too overly disappointed because I feel there aren't too many games that we've let slip away.
"Maybe Hull, and it's not a bad sign to be disappointed to only take a point off Blackburn Rovers, especially when we had the three in our fingertips.
Mowbray continued: "When you break the season down, block by block, we're doing okay.
"There are not many occasions, if I was predicting the season at the start, that I would give us many more points than we've actually got.
"Over the course of the season I'm pretty sure I would predict us with enough points to make sure we stay safe."
