Tony Pulis insists Albion's players left everything out on the pitch after the 3-2 defeat to Manchester City.
Albion were flattered by the scoreline after Matty Phillips' late consolation goal.
City took only ten minutes to take the lead when Leroy Sane fired past Ben Foster from close range.
Jay Rodriguez managed to pull one back before Fernandinho's deflected effort gave City the lead for the second time.
And it was game over when Raheem Sterling slotted home from close range just after the hour mark as Albion were well beaten.
“We knew they were going to create chances but it was just whether we could cause them problems, and we did today, said Pulis.
“The two strikers and the players that came on for us in Hal Robson-Kanu and Matty Phillips were a right handful for them.
“Irrespective of what system or shape you play they’re going to create opportunities because they've got some wonderful players.
“Players who can take you out of the game in one-on-one situations and players who can take you out of the game with passes.
“We got a goal, which was a wonderful pass from Gareth Barry and a great finish from Jay, but things just aren’t going for us.
“To concede that deflected so early after we’d scored - we needed to settle it down and let the dust settle and take it from there.
“Even the chance in the second half for Grzegorz Krychowiak to make it 2-2 was a big moment in the game, and those have to go in your favour if you are going to get something from these types of matches."
