City Hoping To Snap Up Kamara

Manchester City have joined Everton, Reading, Aston Villa and a host of Italian clubs in the race to sign West Brom hitman Diomansy Kamara. City boss Stuart Pearce was at The Hawthorns last Friday and watched Sheffield Wednesday grab a controversial 1-0 victory. It is believed he was keeping tabs on Albion striker Kamara, as well as Owls winger Chris Brunt. Former Portsmouth star Kamara has bagged 22 goals in all competitions this season - but with the Baggies in danger of possibly missing out on a play-off spot and promotion back to the Premiership at the first attempt, the vultures are starting to circle over The Hawthorns. Kamara and injured centre-back Curtis Davies are Albion's prize assets and the most likely to be sold if the club miss out on promotion - but they would command respective fees of around £6million and £8million as they are on long-term contracts. Villa boss Martin O'Neill is planning an overhaul of his squad this summer and has targeted both players, as well as playmaker Jason Koumas who would cost around £4million. But Everton and the Royals are also interested in Kamara, who has many suitors on the continent in the shape of Sevilla, Roma, Torino and Fiorentina.
