Simon Cox has forgotten about his disappointing first Premier League start. The 23-year-old hitman was substituted only 14 minutes into his first top-flight start following a reshuffle after Pablo Ibanez was harshly dismissed.
The former Swindon Town man admits it was disappointing to see his number called on Monday night but is now focusing on Sunday’s game (KO 3pm) against Manchester City.
"It was disappointing but we have to get on with it," he said.
"It's not great when you come into the workplace the following time you're in and everyone says 'I felt for you' because it reminds you of what happened when you want to forget all about it.
"But I've had to move on and training has been good.
"It would have been different for me had Pablo not been sent off.
"I saw it, everyone else in the ground saw it wasn't a sending off.
"Okay by all means give the penalty - but it wasn't a red card.
"Eleven versus 11 would have been different.
"It was the wrong decision but we can't moan about it.
"The team will be very different this weekend - and it is what it is."
