Danek set to leave

The signing of Scott Carson and the emergence of Luke Daniels seems to have spelled the end for Michal Danek at The Hawthorns. The 25-year-old joined the Baggies from Viktoria Plzan in January and even extended his stay in the summer without starting a first-team game although his time now seems up with Tony Mowbray allowing the player to move on.

However the arrival of Carson, along with Dean Kiely and Luke Daniels all pitting for the No.1 shirt, has seen Danek drop down the petting order with a number of clubs interested and prepared to offer the giant stopper first-team football.

A number of teams from across Europe are reportedly keen on Danek with Motherwell, Den Haag from Holland and numerous German outfits all competing for his signature.

"We want Michal to play regularly so that he could improve his goalkeeping skills," Viktoria Plzen general manager Adolf Sadek has said.

"At Plzen though we have Tomas Postulka and we are not willing to let Michal play for another Czech club. We are preferring a team from abroad."

The player's agent, Ondrej Chovanec, also backed up Sadek's thoughts adding: "Michal discussed it with the coach Mowbray who told him that he understands his position and will allow him to find a club where he will be playing regularly. The same as demanded at Viktoria Plzen."
