West Brom defender Curtis Davies is certain to miss the Championship play-off final against Derby at Wembley due to a broken metatarsal. Baggies boss Tony Mowbray had "left the door open" for his captain's possible return at Wembley but now doctors have ruled out the 22-year-old.
Davies, who has been missing since the middle of March said: "There is no chance I will play. I can only take the professional's advice and do what is best because if I were to break it again I could be in serious danger. It is frustrating because I feel fine, but I am a strong character and took it on the chin. I was relieved to know once and for all I would not play because I might not have done myself justice and now, at least, I have the whole summer to let my foot heal."
