Albion pair Jonas Olsson and Steven Reid have welcomed the appointment of new head coach Steve Clarke.
Clarke was appointed last week by the Albion board as the man to succeed Roy Hodgson after serving in a number of high profile coaching role.
The defenders recognise Clarke’s pedigree and backed the former Newcastle, Chelsea, West Ham and Liverpool assistant to succeed at The Hawthorns.
“I spoke to a few of the lads who have worked for him and he’s very respected in the game, one of the top coaches in Britain,” said Steven Reid.
“It’s nice he’s got the opportunity to finally be a gaffer now.
Swedish international Olsson also believes the new head coach will do well at The Hawthorns.
“I think Steve Clarke can do very well for us," Olsson said from the Sweden training camp at Euro 2012.
"I spoke to him briefly the other day and he seems like a nice man.
"He has done well with the teams he has coached so I am happy.
"I think it is a good appointment and I think he will do well for West Brom."
