Roberto Di Matteo and Gabriel Tamas have both admitted they’re out for revenge at Reading tomorrow (KO 3PM). The pair are still hurting from the fifth round exit suffered at The Hawthorns at the hand of the Royals.
The Baggies boss and Romanian international Tamas both insist emotions will not get the better of them at The Madeski Stadium with Di Matteo believing three points will eradicate the FA Cup heartbreak.
“Tomorrow we're going to be fighting for three points," the Italian insisted.
"I think we still have in mind the last couple of games we've played against them.
"I feel we need to prove a point against them.
"I think we made a few mistakes.
"I hope tomorrow we'll make less mistakes and, if we do that, we should have a good chance.
"We are just looking to keep our run going.
"They are a very good team and are on a good run.
"I'm still a bit hurt from having lost the cup tie.
"It was the manner of the way we drew the first game and lost the second one.
"I really want to go there and show them.
"We're going to be focusing on trying to win the game - and not anything else."
Tamas played in both FA Cup ties against the Royals and is hoping to put an end to Reading’s impressive mini-revival when the division’s two form sides meet.
“They won against us in the FA Cup so this will be a great rematch,” said the defender.
"I think the players all want revenge because we went out of the FA Cup.
"But this is the Championship and all the games are hard and big because there are strong players here."
