Dorrans: Derby result is history

Scotland international Graham Dorrans has told his teammates to erase the painful last minute memories at Pride Park.

The skilful midfielder looked to have given Albion an unexpected three points after firing home a 93rd minute strike past a helpless Stephen Bywater.  However an equaliser 30 seconds from the final whistle by DJ Campbell broke Dorrans’ and Albion hearts.

Now, with the Cardiff City clash less than 24-hours away, the 22-year-old insists Albion should erase any painful Pride Park memories and focus on the Bluebird’s visit to The Hawthorns.

"They made it tough for us right from the start and even tougher when they went in front in the first-half," the former Livingston man said.

"We would have taken a point when we were 1-0 down.

"But we knew at half-time they would tire and we would get chances.

"We took the chances but we didn't see it through.

"We fought them, matched them and managed to get in front.

"It was disappointing to lose a goal so close to the end but it is history now.

"It's all about tomorrow and we've got to put Saturday to the back of our minds and concentrate on the next game.

"I think that might have been the problem - we thought it was the winner and they went up the park and scored.

"Everyone's disappointed but it's got to be erased from the memory so we can get on with tomorrow.

"We're six unbeaten, and it's a home game, so we'll be confident.

"They'll be a tough side and they'll be pushing to get up the league, like we are to try and get promoted.

"They've got a lot of good players so it will be a tough game.

"But it's a home game and we look to win all our home games.

"If we want to get promoted The Hawthorns has got to be a fortress for us."
