Volmer, who is currently with AZ Alkmaar, will train with the Baggies this week in a bid to impress the Albion boss enough to offer him a contract at the Hawthorns.
"After this disappointing season, I am hoping for a new chance," Volmer told the Birmingham Post.
"I will do my utmost this week and we will have to see if that is enough to win a contract.
