Albion's Academy has been dealt a huge blow after two of it's most promising talents decided against signing new deals.
16-year-old Louie Barry from Sutton Coldfield has joined Spanish giants Barcelona after rejecting a two-year scholarship with the club.
Barry is one of Europe's most wanted youngsters after scoring a glut of goals whilst on England duty. It's believed Albion will receive only £325,000 in compensation for the player who has been at the club for over a decade.
Albion were able to negioate a better compensation package for Morgan Rodgers, who made his professional debut last season.
The 17-year-old will switch to Manchester City after he also rejected Albion's offer a three year contract. It's believed the Baggies will receive an initial £4m for his services, plus a series of add-ons, which could double his fee.
It's more bad news for Albion's Academy with a number of high-profile coaches departing in recent weeks, including Academy Manager Mark Harrison, who is joining neighbours Aston Villa.
