"Their first goal was offside after we gave the ball away cheaply.
"But that is not an excuse for the way we played in the first half. There was no conviction in our play and that is why we lost.
"In the second we had a go and the only bonus for us was the display of Zoltan Gera.
"We looked nervous right from the start. We never recovered from that. Our composure and passing was poor and you cannot afford to do that against the likes of Liverpool.
"It is all right talking a good game, but you have to do it on the pitch and the performance levels were not out there.
"The harsh reality is that we will be in the relegation zone soon if we don't do something about it."
