Former record signing Borja Valero has joined another one of Europe's heavyweights after completing deal to Inter Milan that could be worth up to €5.5m.
The 32-year-old midfielder signed for Albion back in August 2008 for a record fee of £4.8m but failed to impress at The Hawthorns.
He made only 27 starts for Albion before signing for Villarreal and then for Fiorentia in 2012.
He made more than 200 appearances for the Viola before making the switch to the San Siro this summer.
Valero said a number of weeks ago how his situation at Fiorentina had upset him after spending five seasons in Florence.
“I haven’t signed anything with anyone and if I haven’t done it, then it was more for the fans than the club,” said the Spainard previously.
“I would like to come out in the open and talk, but I am under contract with Fiorentina and I can’t do it. I have always been honest, the day I can do so, I’ll hold a ress conference to explain to the people what really happened.
“I am still not 100 per cent sure I’m leaving Fiorentina, but I’ll certainly have to because I can’t take this anymore. They made my cry and lose sleep for weeks.”
