Tony Mowbray hailed Jonathon Greening's best performance of the season at Wigan and hinted he may use the former Manchester United man in an advanced role again this term.
Greening has been deployed as the 'holding' midfielder throughout the majority of games this term after impressing in the role last season. Sitting just behind Ishmael Miller last Saturday, Greening was a constant threat to the Latics with Mowbray praising the skipper's contribution.
The Baggies boss also revealed that Greening is most prolific of his midfielders in training and is hoping to recreate his training ground form on the big arenas on match-days.
"Jonno was good on Saturday," Mowbray said.
"In training he is probably the most lethal player we have got.
"He scores more goals and has more shots than anybody else in our team.
"Yet on match-days he is generally playing just in front of the back-four, getting the ball off the defence and trying to spread it around the pitch.
"I would suggest he is the biggest goal threat we've got in training and I am trying to get him higher up the pitch so he can be more creative in the final third and have more efforts at goal for us.
"He has got great strength, he is faster than people think and I thought he contributed well at Wigan.
"It's something we need to look at as we move on."
