Albion No.1 Ben Foster has played down any divisions within the Baggies’ camp.
Media reports last week claimed Albion’s senior players held a crisis meeting with the new head coach to discuss his tactics following the failed training camp in Spain.
But Foster insists the squad are fully behind Mel are ruled out any talk of revolt.
“We’re a team, it’s as simple as that,” he said. “We always stick together and the gaffer is quite sensible.
“He knows exactly what he’s doing, he’s more than happy to come to us and ask us our point of view on things. And that’s how it should be.
“It’s not a one-man thing. It’s not like he’s saying: ‘We’re doing that, it’s as simple as that and I don’t care what any of you think’. It’s a team game and we’ve all got to stick together.
“We’ve got some experienced players in our team. We’ve got some good 30-odd-year-old lads. If they’ve got an idea they put it to the team and we put it to the manager and everyone takes it on board and we go from there.
“It’s not like it was a revolt or anything like that. It was just as simple as what goes on in most dressing rooms.”
