The international centre-back will now begin talks over personal terms before deciding on a move to the Hawthorns.
“We’re delighted Ipswich have accepted our offer because Thomas is a player we would like to add to our squad," Baggies chaiman Jeremy Peace told the clubs official website.
“However, there’s still some work to be done before we can claim him as an Albion player."
