Craig Gardner admits he is ‘over the moon’ after completing his free transfer from Sunderland.
The 27-year-old Birmingham-born midfielder joined has been chased by Albion for a number of seasons and saw a deal fall through in January.
But the former Aston Villa and Birmingham player is relieved to have finally signed on the dotted line at The Hawthorns.
“I was linked with West Brom previously and I was just praying it happened this time. Now eventually it has happened so I’m over the moon,” said Gardner.
“People say you have to be happy at home to be happy in your job - and when you’ve got your friends and family around you encouraging and supporting you then that’s when you’ll play your best football.
“Thankfully now I’ve got that.”
Gardner, who has signed a three-year deal, will officially join the club on 1 July.
