Returning goal-scoring hero Zoltan Gera declared his delight at playing top flight football again.
Gera returned from a serious knee injury against Liverpool on Saturday and scored a wonderful opener.
The Hungarian international riffled an unstoppable 20-yard volley past Pepe Reina to score Albion’s first goal of the season.
A beaming Gera claimed it was great to be back playing football again after spending eight months on the sidelines.
“First of all I'm fit and healthy so that is the most important thing,” he said.
“I'm quite happy playing in the first game of the season, I scored as well, so it couldn't have gone any better.
“I was sure I was coming back for the last few games of last season but I didn't mind, trained the whole of pre-season and I feel much, much better.
“I still feel I need more game time, more minutes on the pitch, and then I will be fitter than at the moment.
“It was the first game after a long time out.
“I had played a few friendlies but the Premier League tempo is totally different.”
