Roman Bednar believes his hours spent on the training pitch are behind his return to goalscoring form. The Czech striker has netting in his past two games against promotion rivals Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United.
The former Hearts man started only his second game in thirteen league fixtures against the Magpies and capped an impressive performance with a 46th minute goal. While the 26-year-old striker was later substituted, the striker was delighted to contribute to the team.
“When I started playing after my ban, I got injured and the team did really well so it was hard for me to get back in the starting XI," said the fans’ favourite.
"But I work hard every day like everybody else.
"In the last couple of weeks, I have felt on fire in training and I think that's why the gaffer chose to put me in.
"It was a lucky goal because everybody felt it was going over but I am pleased as a striker because it's always great to score.
"I wasn't pleased to come off but I thought myself and the team did well - and I felt great.
"I scored and I wanted to score more but it's the gaffer's choice."
