Roy Hodgson insists Albion have not received any bids for striker Peter Odemwingie.
Newspaper reports had linked the striker with a switch to Fulham. But the Baggies boss has ruled out any possibility of last season’s top-scoring leaving the club – be it on loan or via transfer.
Hodgson did reveal that the club had been approached with a ‘rather cheeky’ loan offer from an unnamed club, but again was refused out of hand.
“I’m not aware of any interest in Peter,” said Hodgson.
“One club rather cheekily said early on they’d like to loan him for a few month but I think that was a semi-jocular approach.
“We don’t need to sell him, we don’t want to sell him and we can’t stop other clubs making offers.
“They haven’t yet but that’s not to say one day we won’t receive an offer for one of our players.
“It’s been very, very quiet and it is nothing more than speculation, as far as we’re concerned, regarding some of the things we get told about. They have no basis or truth whatsoever.”
