Spanish international Pablo Ibanez today arrived in the Black Country to undergo a medical and continue talks with the newly promoted Baggies. The 28-year-old is available on a free transfer after his contract at Atletico Madrid expired after four years in the Spanish capital.
Preliminary talks have already been held with the 28-times capped central defender with Ibanez and his agent set to conclude contract details shortly. Pablo arrived yesterday in the Midlands and spent this morning at Albion’s training ground complex.
The former Albacete man featured in the 2006 World Cup for Spain and played in this season’s Champion’s League. He would become Albion’s third summer signing after Gabriel Tamas and Steven Reid converted their loans into permanent deals.
