Tony Pulis singled out Jonny Evans for praise after the defenders last-gasp strike saw Albion beat bogey side Stoke 2-1.
The Baggies led through Stephane Sessegnon’s second half strike before Jon Walters equalised with a free header nine minutes before the final whistle.
But after Geoff Cameron had been given his marching orders for shoving Claudio Yacob Albion pushed forward for a winner and Evans tapped home after the Baggies pushed forward for a late winner.
“He's been a great signing for us,” Pulis said.
“His quality in possession is first class. He slows things down for us and is more than just a good defender.
“We've played him at centre-half, left-back, in the centre of midfield - he's done a good job in all of those.
“He just oozes class. He's a top, top player.”
