"We have tried to position this club on the basis if we do get relegated we are not financially in a crisis and we can hopefully bounce back again," the Baggies chairman has said.
"We have planned for it. All our player salaries will flex down, about 25 to 40%, at the end of the season, which is a sizeable reduction for any player.
"Hopefully they will have an incentive to get back to the salary level they enjoyed before relegation, although we will lose Kanu.
"He is one player where the agreement was he would be able to go if we do get relegated, but if that happens we will be able to strengthen in the summer."
