However, Koumas, who still has three years to run on his present deal, says he is hoping for a better deal than the one currently on offer.
"It's up to the manager and the chairman, if they say what I want to hear, I'll be happy to sign a new deal," said Koumas.
""I'm concentrating on my football at the moment.
"I've been offered a new contract but the terms are not right.
"I'm confident they will come up with another offer.
"I want to play in the Premiership and I believe that will happen here. I'm confident we will go up."
