Albion owner Guochuan Lai has appointed his long-standing business associate Li Piyue as the new chairman of West Bromwich Albion.
He replaces the departing John Williams, who was sacked following Albion's disastrous season that ended with relegation.
Li and Lai have worked together closely for a number of years and will ensure Albion's owner keeps a closer eye on the day-to-day running of the club.
The 45-year-old Li has been working as part of Albion's Board of Directors since Lai's takeover at the start of last season.
He is not the only new addition appointed by Lai to the club's board. After working as a Liason Executive after the takeover, Xu Ke has now been officially appointed as a director of the club.
The 29-year-old, who is known as 'Ken', will be based full-time at the club's training ground facility. Li will divide his time between China and England.
