Joe Mattock could be an Albion player by the weekend after Leicester City accepted a bid in excess of a million pound for his services.
The deal for the 19-year-old looked dead earlier in the week after the Foxes rejected Albion’s approach. However, after learning of the Baggies’ interest, Mattock handed in an official transfer request and left City with no option but to accept an official offer.
The Leicester born defender has been capped at five different age levels for his country and played a big part helping his hometown club gain promotion last season. Highly rated and linked to various Premier League clubs, Mattock has made a total of 67 appearances for the Foxes.
