"It was a hard-fought win and we got our just desserts."
The win, the first by any of the promoted clubs from last season, lifted the pressure slightly off the Albion boss although he revealed he hasn't shown too much interest in media reports concerning his future at the club.
"I don't worry, I get on and deal with that but I understand it. I've spoken to a few people over the last few days and asked them how many points they expected us to have at this stage, and there were varying degrees.
"It's part of the territory, but it seems to be getting harder and harder.
"It's not about myself though. The problem is it creates an atmosphere which is difficult for players to play in.
"It was a momentous effort to get a result today."
