Abdoulaye Meite and James Morrison could be passed fit to face Premiership leaders Chelsea at The Hawthorns tomorrow (KO 17.30pm). Meite has been an injury casualty for the best part of ten weeks after suffering a calf strain warming up before the Aston Villa game back in September.
Scottish international Morrison had been an ever present for the Baggies this season before a back injury forced the midfielder off in the second-half against Blackburn Rovers and to completely miss the trip to Anfield last week.
"Meite trained today (Thursday)," Tony Mowbray said.
"The biggest thing for him is how he reacts to a full, intense training session.
"Morrison also trained.
"I'm hopeful they'll both be in the squad if they don't come in the morning and have stiffened up overnight, which is what happened with Morrison last week.
"James trained all week and then his back stiffened up and he couldn't travel.
"Unless we have that sort of scenario they'll both be in the squad."
The Baggies boss has no new injury worries ahead of the visit of the Blues with Filipe Teixeria and Kim Do-Heon both fully recovered from knee problems and Marek Cech back from illness. However, Leon Barnett and long-term injury victim Neil Clement have both been ruled out with respective knee problems.
