Albion No.1 Scott Carson has given his full backing to out-of-form Luke Moore, who he hopes can fill the void left by the injury to Ishmael Miller.
The £3.25 million summer signing has yet to find the net for the Baggies since his switch from neighbours Aston Villa but Carson has backed Moore to count on his Premiership experience to help fire the goals Albion desperately need.
The 22-year-old stopper was teammates with former England Under-21 international Moore last term at Villa and has revealed the striker has all the right attributes to be a success at The Hawthorns.
"He is a great player who is really sharp around the box and is a great finisher," Carson said.
"His confidence needs building but every day in training he is one of the sharpest around the box.
"Maybe this is a chance for him to say to the manager 'look, I'm on top of my game, pick me'.
"It will be a good chance for him and we'll see how he does.
He added: "I have only been here for a few months and he hasn't really featured but he is a good lad who I know from Villa.
"I know the way he is but if he just keeps his head down and gets his chance I am sure he will keep his place.
"He has played a few games in the Premier League so he knows what it's about.
"It's not like he is just coming in from the youth team and I'm sure if he gets his chance he will take it."
