Mowbray hoping for Miller run

Albion manager Tony Mowbray is hoping Ishmael Miller's goal at Newcastle will be the first of many for the burly striker in the Premier League. The former Manchester City man scored his first goal in the top-flight in the 65th minute against the Magpies, rounding Shay Given after an excellent pass from Robert Koren.

Now Mowbray is hoping, like all good strikers do, that the goal will be a catalyst to bigger and better things for Albion's No.10 who has spurned a number of opportunities this season.

"Ishmael's been getting chances but the keepers have either made good saves or he's put them wide," Mowbray said.

"He could be sitting top of the Premier League goalscoring chart had he taken half of them.

"He could have had six or seven goals and everyone talking about him.

"But I'm delighted he's off the mark.

"Let's hope that gives him a bit of confidence to go on a run now.

"That's what we've got to hope, that the goals start flowing freely for him."
