Albion have been given an injury boost that Kim Do-Heon's knee injury is not as bad as first feared. Initial worries that Kim would be sidelined until well into the New Year were quashed as scan results showed damage to the medial ligament and not the feared anterior cruciate.
The Korean Republic international failed to last 60-seconds at The Riverside after stretching and falling awkwardly. After undergoing an encouraging scan on Monday medical specialists have confirmed Kim should now only be out of action for a maximum of six weeks.
"Kim has damaged his medial knee ligament, which is good news, if there is such a thing as good news with a medial knee ligament problem," Albion boss Tony Mowbray said.
"There was a chance it could have been a lot worse than that.
"It could have been an anterior cruciate ligament.
"Thankfully it's a medial knee ligament and we'll hopefully have him back in six to eight weeks."
