Boaz Myhill is on the verge of signing a new two-year deal with the Baggies.
The 32-year-old currently has one year left on his Hawthorns deal and Championship outfit Reading were reportedly interested in signing the former Hull City stopper.
But with Albion No.1 Ben Foster out until at least October with a serious knee injury, Myhill looks set to continue in goal for Albion next season.
Myhill played a key part in Albion’s end-of-season form, in particular an outstanding performance at Old Trafford when he saved a Robin Van Persie spot kick to help the Baggies to an unexpected 1-0 victory.
Despite Myhill’s new deal, Tony Pulis is still expected to sign another goalkeeper this summer. The Baggies had been linked with Myhill’s former Wales colleague Wayne Hennessey, who is valued around £3m by Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, Albion are in talks with former Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby about a deal for the midfielder. The club believe they have the right facilities to get the French international fit after seasons of disruption due to injury at the Gunners.
