Shane Long believes it will only be a matter of time before he is again firing on all cylinders.
The Republic of Ireland ace scored his sixth goal of the season against Norwich after coming off the bench with a troublesome back problem.
Long, who has been playing through the pain barrier, thanked the medical staff for their efforts in getting him on the pitch, and hoped he’d be fully fit again shortly.
"I've been in a bit of pain with my back and the medical staff tried to manage it all last week," said Long
"The medical staff know what they are doing and getting me out on the pitch at the moment is a hard job.
"I'm trying to play through the pain and hopefully I will come out the right side of it in a couple of weeks.
"The problem is always there. It's constant. But it's one of those things you can play through.
"I'm just doing the best I can to make myself available for selection on Saturdays.
"But I'm pretty confident that in a couple of weeks I'll be back to being as good as new.
"In a perfect world, it would be summer now and I'd have six weeks off to recover.
"But, as it is, I need to do my exercises and try and get through games.
"Over time, it will go away.
"I want to be out on the pitch as much as possible and try and score goals for the team."
