Peter Odemwingie looks set to be fined around £80k after his second Twitter outburst against the club.
The want-away striker again vented his frustrations about not being allowed to leave The Hawthorns on transfer deadline day and after being selected as a substitute since then.
The Nigerian international posted a serious of messages on the social media site criticising Baggies boss for not selecting him ahead of other players, claimed he wanted to get sacked from the club and that he should have been paid double the amount of other senior players.
Odemwingie was fined two weeks wages in early February when he took to Twitter to criticise the club after his move to QPR fell through on 31 January. He was subsequently fined two weeks’ wages by the club and apologised for his actions.
However, after he posted a picture of himself on holiday, Odemwingie failed to listen to his advisors and again chose to air his discrepancies. The striker also claimed he had been injected with steroids to counter an ankle injury.
A spokesperson for the club today said that Odemwingie’s behaviour would be dealt with internally after his outburst broke club social media rules. It’s believed he will again be fined two weeks wages – around £78k, the maximum fine the club can impose.
