Swedish defender Jonas Olsson is refusing to press the panic button as Albion prop up the table counting on his experience last season at NEC Nijmegen in Holland's Eredivisie only year ago.
The no-nonsense defender found himself in the same position at his former club as he does this season, however instead of being relegated ended up helping NEC qualify for the UEFA Cup.
"In my last season in Holland, we had an unbelievably bad first half of the season and were second-last at 'the turn'," Olsson said.
"Then in the spring we played unbelievably well and ended up qualifying for European football.
"Maybe that won't happen with West Brom, but we have only played 15 games and there are 23 to come.
"There are a lot of games remaining.
"The results so far haven't been what we would have wished for but the team has come up from the second tier and we knew it was going to be a tough year.
He added:"I think if we had had a little bit more luck on our side - and I hate talking about luck - and maybe won the Blackburn game, we could have four or five more points and be 13th, 14th or 15th.
"Everybody would have said it was a pretty good start.
"It's about small margins and hopefully they will work for us and come on our side."
